Yesterday's inquest into the death of 18-year-old Caitlin McVeigh-Conlon graphically illustrated the enormous risks involved in the use of illegal drugs.
Caitlin was described as a much loved young woman, who had no known history of substance abuse and was devoted to her six-month-old baby.
However, her partner found her lifeless body in bed on their first night after moving into a new home in the Poleglass area of west Belfast, with a post-mortem later confirming the presence of ecstasy and cocaine.
There will be enormous sympathy for the victim's mother, Paula Conlon, who appealed to other young people to `think twice' before making the same tragic mistake as Caitlin.
