Conor McGinley died following a crash in Co Donegal last Saturday morning.

THE funeral of a Co Donegal teenager killed in a crash has heard how his smile “lit up every room”.

Conor McGinley, from the Milford area, died after his car struck a pole outside the village of Kerrykeel in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A male passenger in the car was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A funeral for the 19-year-old was held at Milford’s St Peter’s Church on Thursday.

Fr Stephen Gorman said Conor was “heading towards the prime of his life” when the tragedy happened.

He added the death had “brought a devastating shock” to the community.

“Words are woefully inadequate to express the pain and the sorrow in our hearts that we have for the McGinley family,” the priest added.

Following the funeral a burial service was held at Milford Cemetery.
