Tyrone mother-of-five Danielle Collins, who has died following a summer wedding that captivated the community, has been described as an inspiration to all who knew her.

The 35-year-old, who married husband Darren in July, passed away on Monday, more than a year after being diagnosed with stomach cancer, just weeks after the birth of her fifth child.

My Omagh website, said there was an outpouring of support for "our beautiful bride from July".

In the weeks leading up to the day, the community rallied to help the family find music, cars and a videographer for the wedding, the Irish News reported.

Last July, she had learned of the terminal cancer diagnosis, just weeks after giving birth to her youngest child.

Speaking to The Irish News in June, Danielle said she had been overwhelmed by the flood of goodwill from her community.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank everyone enough,” she said.

“As you can only imagine, I’m only 35 and having a young family, our hearts are broken in a million pieces that I will not see my children grow up.

“Darren is only a year older than me as well so you can imagine the heartbreak we are going through.”

Danielle will be laid to rest on Thursday following a Requiem Mass in St Patrick's Church, Langfield, Drumquin.
