Man charged in connection with north Belfast burglary

A man has been arrested following a violent weekend burglary in north Belfast
Two women in their 60s were left shaken after a suspected burglar walked through the front door of a property in west Belfast in the middle of the night.

A man has been charged with a series of offences following a weekend incident in north Belfast.  

The man was arrested by police investigating a burglary at a house in the Southport Court area on Sunday afternoon. 

The 37-year-old has been charged with a number of offences including burglary, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, false imprisonment, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and common assault.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday October 31.
