Money was stolen by as many as eight men in an aggravated burglary on a house in south Belfast on Thursday.

Detectives are appealing for information following the burglary in the Dunluce Avenue area of the city.

According to the report, a man returned to his address to find a number of men inside the hallway of his home. A knife was held up.

Police said up to eight men then ran out of the house. The victim reported money was stolen.

Another man was in the house at the time. He was not injured but was distressed, the PSNI said.

"Enquiries are continuing and detectives would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident," police added.
