Police have said they are "aware" of footage showing an altercation and serious assault in the aftermath of the Twelfth parade in Belfast.

A video of a fight involving a number of women and a man has been widely shared on social media.

The incident is understood to have occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the junction of Sandy Row and Donegall Road in the south of the city.

The location is on the route of the Orange Order's main Twelfth of July parade in Belfast.

The footage appears to show a woman hitting a man who falls to the ground unconscious beside an ambulance. Some of those involved appear to be intoxicated.

The extent of the man's injuries is not known.

Police have said that they are aware of the footage but that the incident has not been reported to them.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are aware of footage relating to an incident circulating online. Enquiries are ongoing."
