A 17-year-old critically injured in a weekend crash in Co Derry has died, police confirmed on Monday.
The collision happened on the A6 Glenshane Road at Dungiven in the early hours of Sunday.
The young man is the third person to have lost their life on the north's roads in the space of three days.
Police said the crash occurred shortly before 4.20am when the teenager's Vauxhall Corsa collided with a Vauxhall Insignia.
A spokesperson for the PSNI's collision investigation unit said medical treatment was provided upon the arrival of emergency services.
"Sadly, the driver of the Vauxhall Corsa died at the scene," they said.
“Our investigation is underway and we are appealing to anyone who was on the Glenshane Road around this time and who has dash-cam footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 397 of 28/05/23.”
His death follows two fatal crashes on Friday in east Belfast and Co Down.
On Friday morning, 29-year-old Ryan Mervyn Corken, from Comber, died following a three-vehicle collision on the town's Glen Road.
Later that afternoon, a 47-year-old cyclist died following a collision involving a lorry at Castlereagh Street in east Belfast.
Meanwhile, one person was taken to hospital following a collision on the Ballyhornan Road in Downpatrick in the early hours of Monday morning. The road was closed for several hours before reopening to traffic.
On Sunday, two people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries following a serious crash in the Castlewellan Road area of Newcastle, Co Down.
