Police investigating a burglary at commercial premises in Derry have charged a 36-year-old man.

A 36-year-old man is due in court on Monday charged with offences linked to a burglary of commercial premises in Derry city centre.

The charges follow a break-in at premises in the Newmarket Street area on Saturday.

A PSNI spokesperson said the man is charged with aggravated burglary with intent to commit unlawful damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage.



He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
