Advertisements created by schoolchildren across Northern Ireland feature in today's edition of The Irish News.

Pupils were asked to design an advertisement to 'sell their school' with the winning entries published in the newspaper.

It is part of The Irish News Young News Readers media project, which provides pupils with eight weekly school-edition newspapers.

The initiative, aimed at 8-14-year-old children (Key Stage two and three), provides teachers with ready-to-go literacy content.

It delivers a specially commissioned newspaper for eight weeks along with classroom activities designed to help young people engage with the news.

Each edition focuses on a different theme, one of which focuses on newspapers and the importance of advertising revenue.

As part of this year’s project, participating schools were asked to create an advert that would 'sell their school' to prospective students.

Pupils were asked to think about what they value as the most important elements of an advertisement and implement this into their own creation.

A selection of lucky young readers' adverts are published today with The Irish News removing all commercial revenue from today’s paper to showcase these designs.
