A minute’s silence will be held for young footballer Kaylee Black before Sunday’s Irish Cup Final.

Football fans are also planning to hold a minute of applause in the 13th minute of the game involving Crusaders and Ballymena United in tribute to the teenager.

Kaylee, who played for Crusaders Strikers FC U13 squad, died after being reported missing on Sunday.

She has been remembered for her "pure talent and love for football".

On Thursday, the Irish FA said: "A minute’s silence will be observed prior to Sunday’s Irish Cup final to remember Kaylee Black.

"Crusaders fans are also asking everyone in attendance at the stadium to participate in a minute’s applause, during the 13th minute, in her memory."

Tributes to the 13-year-old have been placed at a gate in the Carnmoney Hill area of Newtownabbey, ahead of her funeral on Tuesday at Seaview Presbyterian Church.

She will later be laid to rest at Ballyclare Cemetery.

A Year 9 pupil at Ballyclare Secondary School, she was described as a "very talented, kind, well-mannered pupil with a beautiful smile" in a tribute by the school.

A spokesperson added that "both staff and pupils are profoundly saddened by her death, and she will be remembered with great affection".

On Wednesday, Crusaders Strikers FC dedicated their game against Derry City Ladies to the young girl.

Players wore black armbands and T-shirts with Kaylee’s photo and all ticket money will be donated to her family to go towards funeral costs.
