TWO men are expected to appear in court on Monday to face charges relating to a weekend robbery and attempted robbery in Co Antrim.

The charges are understood to be connected with the attempted robbery of a newsagents on the Cullybackey Road in Ballymena and the robbery of a shop in the Linenhall Street area of the town on Saturday.

The men, aged 23 and 25, have been charged with a number of offences, including robbery, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both are expected to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday April 24.
