A NORTH Belfast resident was attacked with a hammer after an armed gang forced their way into a property on Tuesday morning, police have said.

Shortly after 4am, it was reported that two men and a woman armed with weapons arrived at an address in Duncairn Gardens.

A police spokesperson said: “They caused damage to the front door of the property, before gaining access and attacking a resident with a hammer.

“All three made off in the direction of the Antrim Road."

Any witnesses or those who may have CCTV or doorbell footage have been asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 151 of March 21.
