HE may have been missing in action for a while, but Tyrone's number 1 fan Datsun Donaghy is back - and with a new All-Ireland song.

Actor Conor Grimes has penned Tyrone Among the Bushes for his alter ego in the hope it will "inject a little bit of fun" into the build-up to the big game.

The Donaghmore man said the song charts the county's march to Saturday's final in Croke Park, when he believes his beloved Red Hands will be bringing Sam Maguire home.

Lyrics reference Datsun travelling to matches by tractor and seeking tickets for the queen - the queen of country music, Philomena Begley, that is.

Speaking about his song, which was launched yesterday on Facebook, Conor said it was a light-hearted look at how how Tyrone have got to the All-Ireland final.

"The football, everything becomes so serious. It becomes so tense," he said.

"It is trying to alleviate the mood a little bit and inject a little bit of fun, a distraction for everyone.

"We made the film over the weekend, edited it last night and got it finished up."

The comedian said people had been messaging him since the semi-final win over Kerry, asking where Datsun is.

"I don't know if they think he's real," he said.

"He's more like seeing a yeti."

Thinking ahead to Saturday's final, Conor said: "I think we will be taking it home.

"I was at the semi-final. It was a new team.

"They came out of the tunnel like kangaroos. The first five minutes was `Oh My God'."
