Excitement is starting to build in Co Tyrone ahead of next weekend's All-Ireland football final - with one of the county's best known landmarks decked out in the famous red and white colours.

Volunteers from Sigersons GAA in Strabane yesterday kitted out the `Tinnies' - four giant figures in the `Let the Dance Begin' sculpture created by Maurice Harron to mark the new millennium stand sentinel.

The figures, which stand over the Strabane/Lifford border, got the full Tyrone treatment with the help of O'Neills staff.

The move comes just a week before Tyrone face Mayo at Croke Park next Saturday in the All-Ireland senior football final.

It is the first time Tyrone have made the final since 2018.

More than 40,000 tickets have been made available for the match and demand in Tyrone and all around Northern Ireland is high.

Posting on Twitter yesterday, Sigersons GAA wrote: "Well done to the Sigersons Volunteers and O'Neills staff for getting the Tinnies decorated.

"The club take great pride in getting our town ready for when Tyrone reach an All-Ireland final".
