Two 43-year-old men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a vulnerable Coleraine woman in her home last month.

Sally Cummings (61) was shot in the head as she slept in a chair in a downstairs room.

A gang of three men had fired more than 10 shots at the Bushmlls Road property and the grandmother was struck by at least one bullet which smashed a living room window in the October 5 attack.

Last week police described Ms Cummings as "a vulnerable woman" with "various health problems".

The shooting happened at a property on the Bushmills Road on 5 October.

Her son, Russell, was also injured in the shooting.

A £10,000 reward was offered by Crimestoppers for anonymous information in connection with the shooting which police have blamed on the North Antrim UDA.

Both men are being questioned at Musgrave police station.

The pair were detained in Coleraine earlier under Sec 41 of the Terrorism Act.

Ms Cummins was said to be making "good progress" earlier this month.
