A shop worker was threatened with a syringe during a robbery in west Belfast yesterday.

At around 6pm a man wearing a mask entered the Cavendish Street store and demanded money from the till.

The employee refused and the man produced a syringe, which appeared to contain blood, and threatened the shop worker with it.

He then made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes.



The robber is described as in his 20s, around 5ft 6", blue eyes, blonde hair, slim build, wearing a dark coloured wind breaker, grey tracksuit bottoms and glasses.
