Two men armed with a screwdriver have robbed a shop in west Belfast.

At around 11am yesterday, the pair entered a newsagents at Jasmine Way in Twinbrook and threatened staff before demanding money.

They escaped with a quantity of cigarettes and money.

The first man is described as being around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a light-blue coat, grey shorts and a white mask.

The second man is described as being around 5ft 9in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black hooded top, black shorts and had a knee bandage on. He is believed to have had a scar on his face.

Police have appealed for information.

Sinn Féin assembly member Orlaithí Flynn said staff at the shop were left "very shocked and shaken" by the robbery.

"I would urge anyone who may have any information on what happened to bring it forward to the PSNI," she said.
