Viable device found in parked car in west Belfast

A VIABLE device was found in a parked car outside a home in the Lagmore area of west Belfast yesterday.

Several people were evacuated from their homes after the device was discovered in a car in the White Rise area shortly before 9am.

A window of the car had been smashed.

Army bomb disposal experts were sent to examine the device. They later found it was viable.

The device was removed for examination.

After a security alert lasting for several hours, residents were allowed to return to their homes.

Police have appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 101.
