THE Game of Thrones Tapestry is to be exhibited alongside the iconic embroidered cloth depicting the events leading to the Norman conquest of England.

A team of stitchers, drawn from National Museums NI staff, said they were proud their work would hang beside the Bayeux Tapestry in France.

Thought to date to the eleventh century, it tells the story from the point of view of the conquering Normans.

The newer Game of Thrones work is on display in the Ulster Museum until Sunday, July 28. It will then travel to Bayeux in September.
