Three Belfast men were remanded in custody today charged with an attack which left a teenager unconscious.

Dean Clarke (20) Geordie Brown and Nathan Lloyd, both 18, appeared in court accused of carrying out the assault in south Belfast.

Police said a 17-year-old male was found injured and unconscious at a flat on the Donegall Road last Friday.

Clarke, from Creevy Avenue; Brown, of Malone Road in the city; and Lloyd, with an address on the Donegall Road, are jointly charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Brown is also accused of disorderly behaviour at the Royal Victoria Hospital on the same date, while Lloyd faces a further count of possessing Class C Tramadol drugs.

A detective told Belfast Magistrates' Court he could connect each defendant to the charges against them.

No further details of the alleged attack were disclosed during the hearing.

Defence lawyers put no questions to the detective and confirmed their clients were not seeking bail at this stage.

District Judge Mark Hamill remanded all three accused in court to appear again by video-link next week.
