LOYALIST blogger Jamie Bryson has confirmed he was arrested yesterday.

Police said they had arrested a 28-year-old man as part of an ongoing investigation into criminality linked to the east Belfast UVF and on suspicion of supplying unlicensed door staff. 

The man, who was arrested in the Ards and north Down area, was last night released on bail pending further police enquiries.

The arrest was made by the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF), in support of the Security Industry Authority, following searches of homes in Bangor and Donaghadee, as well as an office premises in Newtownards.

Police said they seized a number of items including a BB gun, a number of laptops, documents, camouflage clothing and an ipad.

Jamie Bryson said a BB gun and camouflage had not been found in his house. He has denied any involvement in criminality.
