A SPORTS complex in Derry is to be revamped in a £150,000 project.

Templemore Sports Complex will be refurbished over three weeks in August. The project will include new changing areas and an upgrade to the health suite and sauna.

The refurbishment is to go ahead after it was approved by members of Derry City and Strabane District Council's health and community committee.

Barry O'Hagan, head of leisure services at the council, said the the refurbishment was "much needed".

"The work is a demonstration of our commitment to retaining a high standard of service at all council leisure centres, and we look forward to embarking on the programme of works in the summer," he said.

The work is due take place between July 31 and August 20.
