POLICE and the family of a 31-year-old man who died suddenly last month have appealed for help in finding his mobile phone.

Brendan McKernan collapsed in Belfast and died five days later in hospital on February 23.

Officers have appealed to two men who were with Mr McKernan at a fast food restaurant on Donegall Place in Belfast city centre at around 6.15pm on February 18 to contact them.

A PSNI spokesman said the men may be able to help officers investigating the circumstances surrounding Mr McKernan's death.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, police said.

Officers also want to find Mr McKernan's touchscreen Nokia phone. He had the phone in his possession but it was not found with him following his collapse.

Police believe the phone may contain valuable evidence and also has several photographs which his family want returned.
