Boy hurt after falling through glass door at Ballymena's Tower Centre

A four-year-old boy has fallen through a glass door at a Co Antrim shopping centre.

It happened at the Greenvale Street entrance of the Tower Centre in Ballymena at around 3.30pm yesterday.

It is understood the boy tripped and fell through the glass doors entering the centre. He is believed to have suffered cuts to his face and was treated at the scene by the ambulance service before being taken to Antrim Area Hospital. 

A spokesman for the Tower Centre said they were aware of the incident and were investigating it further.

"This incident is currently under investigation and we are working with the police and the family to ensure that this is carried out effectively," they said.

"The Tower Centre takes the safety of our customers seriously and the welfare of children is of paramount importance to the centre."
