Road closed following ‘serious assault’ in west Belfast

Police and paramedics have attended the scene of a serious assault in west Belfast.

The incident happened in the Cupar Street Upper area on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and the area was cordoned off.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Cupar Street Upper is closed as a result, along with the Springfield Road between Lanark Way and Millennium Way.

“Please seek an alternative route for your journey.”

The NI Ambulance Service was approached for comment.
