Call for prayers as Enniskillen man remains on ‘life-support’ following crash

Police are investigating following serious crash in the Letterbreen area on Sunday

A Co Fermanagh man remains in a serious condition in hospital following a motorcycle crash.

Matthew Coalter (26), from the Enniskillen area, was injured in the crash involving a motorcycle and a car in the Sligo Road area of Letterbreen, on Sunday,

A PSNI spokesperson said the collision happened shortly before 11.30am and involved a Volkswagen Tiguan and a Suzuki motorbike.

“A man in his 20s, believed to be the motorcyclist, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries believed to be serious,” they said.

“Police would to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have any dash-cam footage available to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 666 14/04/24.”

In a post to social media, the Elim Petecostal Chuch in Brookborough, urged people to pray for a “miracle”.

“Please Pray for Matthew Coalter who’s currently on a life support machine in the royal Victoria hospital after a serious motorbike accident. The next few days are critical for this young man who’s only 26,” a church spokesperson said.

“We need a miracle! So we appreciate everyone who will connect with this post, but even more we request for you to seriously pray to God for Matthew.”

They added: “Please pass this on to other praying people and prayer groups. The family would much appreciate all prayers at this time.”

Enniskillen UUP councillor Robert Irvine told The Irish News: “This is a desperately worrying time for the family of this young man, and I am praying for his recovery. I know the wider community will be offering theior prayers also and will support the family through this difficult period.”
