Man dies and two people injured in Co Cork car crash

A man has died and two people have been injured in a car crash in Co Cork.

The single-vehicle crash happened in the townland of Rathanker, near Passage West.

Gardai attended the scene at approximately 2.30am on Sunday morning.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, was fatally injured during the crash.



Two occupants of the car suffered injuries, which were understood to be non-life-threatening, and were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The local road remained closed after lunchtime on Sunday with traffic diversions in operation.
