Northern Ireland’s burgeoning tourist industry has been highlighted as part of the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
The Tourism NI Fleadh Brunch profiled the region’s tourism and was attended by Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald, as well as Chair of Tourism NI Ellvena Graham, and Laura McCorry, Chief Executive of Tourism NI.
Speakers at the event hailed the value of hosting events on the scale of the Fleadh, showing the positive impact of tourism and the impact on the economy and local communities.
Also in attendance were key tour operators, stakeholders, government representatives, tourism partners and local and international media.
This is the first time Belfast has hosted the Fleadh and it has become one of the biggest events held in the city.
For this year’s Fleadh, the Department for the Economy provided £1 million of funding to the Belfast City Council.
This is supporting the delivery of the event, as well as the 1,000 volunteers helping to make this event as enjoyable for everyone.
