A TOURIST trail which includes a Black Taxi Mural tour in Belfast has been ranked second in the world for its cultural experience.

Belfast Tour company Taxitrax was yesterday celebrating after its Wild Rover Tours North of Ireland Highlights Day Tour, of which the Black Taxi Mural Tour is an integral part, won three awards in the Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Experience awards.

Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel platform, awarded the North of Ireland Highlights Day Tour second in the world for Cultural Experiences, fifth in the world for Travel Experiences, and first in Ireland for Travel Experiences.

Brian Barr, spokesman for TaxiTrax, said the team was "delighted" with the awards.

"Each year, as part of this tour, Taxitrax brings tens of thousands of tourists from across the world to the Falls and Shankill Roads to view the famous murals and to visit the Peace Wall," he said.

"The tour then goes up the north coast to the Giant's Causeway and to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. That it is ranked second in the world and first in Ireland by Trip Advisor is an incredible achievement".

He added: "Even with the current travel restrictions, our mural tour is still attracting big numbers of bookings every day with tourists from across Ireland on staycation in Belfast making up the vast majority of those taking the tour".

John Goldrick, Director of Wild Rover Tours, said:"We could not have done it without Taxitrax pulling together with us and being the best at what we both do.

"The Taxitrax Black Taxi Mural Tour in Belfast is a special attraction that is intricate to our tour," he said.
