A video clip showing former Rangers star Nacho Novo being harassed by a Celtic fan at Belfast international airport has been viewed thousands of times, with some fan expressing disgust at the treatment of the footballer.
The first clip shows a man wearing a Celtic FC top singing "I hope you died in your sleep Nacho Novo", with the soccer player initially laughing off the abuse.
In a second clip, taken outside the airport, Novo approaches the man, and asks him why he "disrespected" him, saying he had done nothing to deserve the abuse and that he "was not scared of him".
The incident is believed to have happened on Saturday.
Posting on Twitter, Novo said: "Arrived at Belfast International Airport tonight to support the local community for all sides of the divide, as soon as I walked out of the airport I was surrounded by over Celtic supporters that hurled abuse and tried to attack myself. I would like thank genuine Celtic [sic] supporter."
While some fans defended the behaviour others expressed disgust, with one fan saying the man responsible was "an embarrassment to our club".
