POLICE have confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to an alleged attack on the captain of Tyrone's All-Ireland winning under-17 football team.

Video footage captured Cormac Munroe (17) from Carrickmore dropping to the ground after an apparent punch by a bouncer near a bar on the Ormeau Road in south Belfast.

The teenager, who led Tyrone to victory in the All-Ireland under-17 football championship final in Croke Park last month, was taken to hospital following the alleged assault on September 25.

Footage of the alleged assault was taken 10 days ago.

A PSNI spokesman last night said: "No arrests at this stage and enquiries ongoing".

Cormac, who is also a former World Handball champion and county hurler, is continuing to recover at his home and was forced to miss the Carrickmore Eire Og's minor hurling league final against Dungannon earlier this week.
