Co Down man Mr Miskelly (24) died early on Sunday following an assault outside a house on Bangor Road in Newtownards.

A second 19-year-old man was arrested but was released without charge on Monday night in connection with Mr Miskelly’s murder. However, he is to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service over an assault on a 27-year-old man on Bangor Road, Ards, on Sunday.

Mr Miskelly, from the Newtownards area, was discovered lying face down in the driveway of the property on Bangor Road. Despite treatment from ambulance staff he died at the scene.

It is believed he had been on a night out with friends before making his way to the house where an altercation took place.

The victim has been described as a young man with a “good heart” by close childhood friend Aaron Johnson.
