A 20-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested by police investigating a gun attack on the PSNI in west Belfast.

The woman was arrested by officers from the serious Crime Branch in the Newry area on Tuesday morning and taken to Musgrave Street police station for questioning.

She was released unconditionally on Tuesday night.

Two properties were searched during the operation.

The investigation is linked to a gun attack on a PSNI car at Rossnareen Avenue in west Belfast in November 2015.

The attack was later claimed by the republican group known as the 'IRA'.

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man was arrested by officers investigating a shooting at a house in west Belfast last month.

A married couple, Peter and Marie Dorrian, were shot in the legs at their Norglen Parade home in Turf Lodge on January 12.

A property in west Belfast was searched during the police operation and several items removed for further investigation.

The man was taken to Musgrave Street PSNI station for questioning but was later released unconditionally.
