Man charged following non-suspicious death of Coleraine man

A 25-year-old man has been charged following the death of a man in Coleraine.



The body of Colin Doherty (56), was found at a house in Silverthorn Avenue in the Harpurs Hill estate on Tuesday.

Police said they are no longer treating the death as suspicious following a postmortem examination.

The 25-year-old man was charged on Wednesday night with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent.



He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
