Three questioned over Dessie Mee death are freed

THREE people being questioned by detectives over the suspicious death of a man in Newtownards have been released on bail.

Dessie Mee (45) died after an incident at the Millers House apartment block in Regent Street on Tuesday evening.

Mr Mee, from Blenheim Drive in the town, was found badly injured outside the block and died later in hospital.

Two men, aged 35 and 42, and a 29-year-old woman arrested in the wake of the incident have been released on bail pending further police inquiries.

The woman and one of the men have been reported to prosecutors for possession of a class-B drug.

Police have appealed for information about Mr Mee's movements in the period before his death and about any witnessed activity in and around the apartment block between 6pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday.
