A CO Down doctor is to stand trial on charges relating to clinical trials.
Hugh McGoldrick (58), of Crossgar Road East in Crossgar, appeared before Downpatrick Magistrates Court yesterday.
He is also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by facilitating two separate arson attacks on his own surgery at Pound Lane Clinic.
District Judge Peter King said: “There were documents which may have supported those allegations.
“Those documents were in buildings which were subject to fire.”
The judge said there was a prima facie case to answer.
All of the alleged offences occurred between 2007 and 2008.
Dr McGoldrick denies all charges.
Releasing Dr McGoldrick on his own bail of £500, the judge ordered him to appear before the Crown Court on
August 26.
