AIB has brought together a leading panel of property and industry experts to provide homebuyers with top tips, insights and practical guidance as they get ready to purchase their first home.

DEMYSTIFYING MORTGAGES

AIB’s Your Home event will take centre stage at the Limelight, Belfast on Wednesday April 26 from 6pm.

Hosted by Q Radio breakfast presenter Declan Wilson, guests will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of property, legal and mortgage experts who will be on hand to demystify the mortgage process for first-time buyers.

This is set to be an incredible event with an expert panel that are ready to answer all your burning questions to help you make your dream of owning your own home a reality.

Joining the panel from AIB’s Homes Team will be mortgage advisor Julie McCullagh who’ll be on hand to explain the mortgage process.

Speaking ahead of the event, Julie said that whilst the application process might seem daunting at first, knowing what to expect can really help.

Julie explains: “Buying your first home is exciting and we want to keep it that way. Our aim is to break down the mortgage journey into simple steps and explain some of the technical jargon.

“The Homes team at AIB is committed to helping first-time buyers – we want to see you settled in your home as quickly as you do!”

Local estate agent Olga McAteer is set to appear on the panel.

EXPERTISE AT EVERY STEP

Joining Julie on the panel is solicitor Philip McBride and estate agent Olga McAteer.

A titan of the house hunting world, Olga McAteer has helped many first-time buyers find their first home and will be sharing guidance and tips on what questions you should be asking when viewing homes and how you know when you’ve found “the one”.

Heading up the Property Law Team at McKee’s Solicitors, Philip McBride joins the panel to break down all the “legal lingo”.

From conveyancing and insurance to deeds, Philip will get you up to speed on everything you’ll need for filling out the paperwork.

Completing the panel is recent first-time buyer Francesca McKee, better known on Instagram as @Frans_Travels.

Whilst Fran often shares pictures of her enviable vacation spots, home is definitely where the heart is having moved into her first home just over a year ago.

Fresh from her own home-buying journey, Fran shares her thoughts, ‘dos and don’ts’ from her own recent experience.
