AIB has brought together leading property experts to provide first time buyers top tips, insights and guidance as they prepare to purchase their first home.
Taking centre stage
AIB’s ‘Your Home’ is a free live event taking place at the Limelight in Belfast on Wednesday (April 26). Doors will open at 6pm with refreshments available before the panel discussion. At 6.30pm, Q Radio’s Declan Wilson will lead an engaging Q+A with the expert property panel. There will be the opportunity for audience questions and AIB’s Homes Team will also be on hand to answer your own specific questions about your home buying journey.
Tackling mortgage myths
Joining the panel from AIB’s Homes Team will be mortgage advisor Julie McCullagh who’ll be on hand to explain the mortgage process.
Speaking ahead of the event Julie said that whilst the application process might seem daunting at first, knowing what to expect can really help. Julie explains: “Buying your first home is exciting and we want to keep it that way. Our aim is to break down the mortgage journey into simple steps and explain some of the technical jargon. The Homes team at AIB is committed to helping first-time buyers – we want to see you settled in your home as quickly as you do!”

Joining Declan and Julie on stage will be solicitor Philip McBride, head of the Property Law Team at McKee’s Solicitors, estate agent Olga McAteer from McAteer Solutions and recent first-time buyer, Francesca McKee, better known on Instagram as @Frans_Travels. Together, the panel will share guidance on everything a first-time home buyer should know, from the market landscape and paperwork to house hunting tips and the mortgage process.
