With Blue Monday coming up on January 15 it’s easy to give in to the cold days and dark nights and simply stay at home. However, we have a few other suggestions for your weekend whether you’re going out or staying in.

NI’s biggest Clip ‘n Climb experience provides healthy, challenging indoor climbing fun for all the family – including adults. Pre booking is strongly recommended, each session is 90 minutes including a 30-minute briefing followed by 55 minutes in the indoor climbing arena and 5 minutes to de-harness. All briefings will start promptly at the time booked.

Colin Glen Black Bull Run, Colinglen Road, Belfast, available to book every weekend

Whizz through the forest at 25mph on Ireland’s one and only Alpine Coaster seeing so much of Colin Glen Forest at a much faster rate. Twisting and turning downhill and up, through tunnels and in and out of the trees while you control the speed on this woodland course. Tickets start from £10.50 and will allow for three goes per person. Children aged 3-7 go free but must ride with an adult.

ScrapYard Golf, 11 Glenwell Road, Glengormley, Newtownabbey

Aiming to create the most exciting crazy golf experience in Northern Ireland Scrapyard is 21 holes of pure creativity. Golfers of all ages regardless of talent should feel like they can bring out their inner child (as well as their competitive streak). They have adapted to make all players feel welcome, including the less able, with low level entrances and exits at the majority of holes.

The first of its kind The Rage Room NI encourages you to “let the beast run free” by offering an alternative way to destress. Customers reserve a session, select their package, and personalise it to suit them and proceed to “destroy with joy”. The safest way to wreck a room with the staff ensuring helmets and body suits are always worn.

The Rage Room has also partnered with Northern Ireland’s leading recycling company to dispose all the broken items from each session and properly recycle them.

Fodder in the Woods, 26 Killyleagh Road, Downpatrick, Saturday 9am-4pm and Sunday 10am-4pm

Fodder is a café and farm shop based on the working farm and wedding venue, Finnebrogue Woods. In addition to their baked goods, brunch options and delicious hot beverages the café aims to showcase the farms Dexter Beef making it an excellent lunch spot with options like, the Fodder Dexter Burger & Fries, Dexter Beef bap and Dexter Beef sausage roll.

Fodder have also developed trails exclusively for customers enabling them to reconnect with nature through our mature woodlands, lake and wildlife.
