Armagh City Hotel Ulster senior club semi-final

Saturday 1pm in Swatragh: Swatragh v Clonduff

THE Armagh City Hotel Ulster senior camogie semi-final was postponed after a pitch inspection at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon.

The Swatragh surface had already been declared fit for purpose after an earlier inspection but conditions underfoot had deteriorated as throw-in time approached.

Quite a few spectators had already filtered into the grounds before the decision was taken in the interests of safety.

Next Saturday Swatragh are already scheduled to play against Killeavy in Owenbeg in the Ulster junior hurling championship while Clonduff senior footballers will take on Edendork, the newly crowned Tyrone champions, in an Ulster preliminary round game in Páirc Esler later in the evening (6.15pm).

That probably means that the camogie semi-final will be re-scheduled for next Sunday November 1.

The decision had been take on Friday to move three quarter-finals in the Bridie McMenamin Shield to next weekend. The fourth quarter-final was played and resulted in a 3-8 to 1-4 victory for Kilclief Beann Dearg over Carndonagh.

Meanwhile the Armagh City Hotel Junior preliminary round game in Edendork went ahead with Loughgiel coming from behind in the last ten minutes to win on a 1-8 to 0-7 score-line
