Galway leave Croke Park with their season over as Dublin earned the last semi-final of the All-Ireland Football Championship.

The Tribesmen last took on Dublin in the All-Ireland SFC in the round-robin stage of last year’s Championship, when Tom Lahiff scored a winner with the last kick of the game in Salthill.

Dublin’s last game saw Ger Brennan’s side knock out Donegal at Croke Park after extra time to book their return ticket to Jones’ Road, with the Boys in Blue losing out to Louth in the first round and beating Cavan in the second round at the Kingspan Breffni.

Galway came through the All-Ireland series unscathed, with wins over Tailteann Cup holders Kildare and Leinster champions Westmeath.

Yesterday, Mayo secured a first All-Ireland semi-final spot in five years, before Kerry pipped Tyrone in the second quarter-final in a tightly-fought contest.
