Robbie Williams has said it feels “pretty incredible” to sponsor the shirts for his hometown football club.

The chart-topping singer, 52, has entered into a partnership with Port Vale FC which will see his “RW” logo appear on the front of the team’s home and away kits for two seasons.

Williams will also become an ambassador of the charitable foundation for the club, which is known to fans as “the Valiants”.

The former Take That star, who was born and raised in Stoke, is a lifelong supporter of the club.

Reflecting on the partnership, Williams said: “It feels pretty incredible, to be honest – Robbie Williams, on the front of a Port Vale shirt. It’s a match made in heaven for me.

“I started going to the Vale when it was 50p for a junior supporter to get in. It takes a village to raise a child and the Railway Paddock at Vale Park raised me.”

Williams shot to global fame as a member of Take That in the early 1990s before going on to achieve further international success as a solo artist, with hits including Angels, Rock DJ and Let Me Entertain You.

The star has had a total of 14 UK number one singles and 16 UK number one albums across his decades-long career, and has won many accolades including 18 Brit Awards.

Williams also staged a homecoming concert at Vale Park in 2022.

His logo will appear on the shirts for Port Vale for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

The partnership coincides with the launch of the Port Vale Foundation’s new three-year “One Vale” strategy, which focuses on projects supporting health, education, inclusion and opportunity across the city.

Port Vale chief executive Matt Hancock said: “This partnership means a huge amount to us here at the football club and we are absolutely delighted to be working alongside Robbie.

“He is not only a global superstar, but also a genuine supporter of the club with a deep and personal connection to our town. It’s that authenticity which makes this so powerful.

“From the very first conversations, it was clear this was about Robbie’s lifelong love for Port Vale and making a tangible difference to people’s lives.

“The support and exposure the partnership will give to the club and foundation will help us reach more people, create more opportunities and continue using the club as a force for good.”
