OPTIONS Technology has announced plans to create 200 new jobs in Belfast over the next three years.

The fast-growing firm, which provides cloud-enabled managed services to the global financial sector, was originally founded 30 years ago.

It has offices in London, New York and Hong Kong, but remains headquartered in Belfast’s Adelaide Street.

Options Technology said it has already created 100 jobs in Belfast in the last 12 months.

The company's announcement comes one day after Belfast hosted a major investment conference.

Options said it reflects its long-term growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to the region.

Options Technology is headed by Danny Moore, who previously led Belfast-based trading technology firm Wombat Financial Software.

Wombat was acquired in 2008 by NYSE Euronext for $200 million (about £145m).

His latest tech venture has now been established as world leader in delivering financial sector infrastructure. Its clients include all 30 of the top global banks

"Our decision to expand our workforce in Belfast reflects the exceptional talent we've found in this vibrant city,” said Mr Moore.

“We are proud to continue investing in the local community and provide opportunities for ambitious young professionals, regardless of their course of study.

“The last two years has seen Options invest in our largest-ever intake of new graduates and placement students, cementing our reputation as one the most exciting tech employers in the sector,” added the president and chief executive.

“Our programme offers graduates the chance to forge a career at the intersection of financial technology and capital markets, and I would encourage all graduates, to apply."

In 2019, Options received investment from Boston-based private equity firm Abry Partners, which the company said helped accelerate its growth strategy.

The new roles available span software development, AI, and cybersecurity.

To support its expansion, the company said it recently widened its recruitment net to include engineering apprentices and talented individuals who have completed their A-Levels.

Over a quarter of its hires in the last 12 months were placement students.

Options said graduates hired in Belfast can expect an immersive training experience, spending up to three months in each of the company's global hubs, including London, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Auckland.
