THE son of English cricket legend Ian Botham has launched a new health clinic in Belfast city centre, with the aim of helping its clients live longer.

Liam Botham is co-founder of ACCA Longevity Clinic, which has opened on Franklin Street.

The company, set up with Jonathan Doherty and Tracey Eisen, aims to use technology developed for sports recovery to offer ‘wellness and longevity’ treatments for a wider customer base.

On offer is a cryotherapy chamber to treat aches and pains, intravenous vitamin infusions and vitamin injections.

The ACCA clinic also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which delivers an increase in oxygen within a pressured environment with the aim of promoting relaxation, improving sleep quality and boosting energy production,

“The overall purpose that Jonathan, Tracey and I have developed for ACCA is simple - to help our clients live a healthier, longer life,” said Liam Botham.

“The therapies we offer essentially replicate the best elements of nature – good nutrition, water, oxygen, heat, cold, light – and combine them with leading-edge technology to help increase the number of healthy years a body can function.”

Ian Botham, now Lord Botham, was in Belfast on Monday evening to help launch the new clinic, which also offers photobiomodulation (light) therapy; compression therapy; a ‘far-infrared’ sauna; and NAD+ therapy (intravenous nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide).

Photobiomodulation (light) therapy is among the treatments on offer at Liam Botham's new Belfast clinic.

Co-founder Tracey Eisen said the business is also hoping to attract employers to help develop staff well-being programmes.

“Globally, people are recognising the importance of investing into their own wellness now in order to increase the chances of them leading a healthier future,” she said.

“Equally, employers are understanding the value of actively supporting the health of their people to maximise talent retention and minimise absence. Every choice we make can help optimise how we function – whether that’s in terms of sporting performance or everyday life.”
