THREE Belfast start-ups are among 23 from across Ireland and 2,600 globally taking part in Web Summit, the world’s largest tech conference.

They have been selected to exhibit at the dedicated Irish Island stand and to promote the Irish start-up ecosystem during the conference (www.websummit.com), taking place in Lisbon from November 13-16.

Those chosen to attend are from a range of sectors including HR, health, education, sustainability, sport, and more.

The start-ups at Web Summit - labelled by Bloomberg as “Davos for geeks” - will join more than 800 investors, 300 partners and 2,000 media from 160 countries. The three from Northern Ireland are:

:: Enzai – A lifecycle management tool to allow users to document and govern their AI systems. It is time to finally operationalise responsible AI

:: Seven Video - Standing out in a crowded market is tough, but we make it possible. With Seven, you can capture your audience's attention whether you're following up, selling, updating, or inviting.

:: Workstream - Construction workflow management for maximum efficiency.

Addressing the Irish cohort ahead of their visit to Portugal, Richard Forde, vice president of start-up relations at Web Summit, said: “Web Summit is one of the world’s largest and most influential technology gatherings, headquartered in Ireland and with operations around the globe, playing a leading role in giving start-ups and scale-ups a platform for success.

“The event has committed resources to champion the growth of Irish start-ups and to provide year-round support to Ireland’s start-up community by helping them connect with our global network.

“Through our conferences internationally, and our events locally, we will work with Irish tech start-ups, to platform a truly unique opportunity to tell their story and foster growth.”

Since its beginnings as a 150-person conference in Dublin in 2009, Web Summit has grown into the world’s largest technology event, connecting people and ideas that change the world.

Its events have gathered half a million people across Web Summit in Europe, Web Summit Rio in South America, Collision in North America, Web Summit Qatar in the Middle East and RISE in Asia.

Its mission has been to create software that enables meaningful connections between CEOs, founders, investors, media, politicians and cultural figureheads.
