SURF heritage clothing brand Saltrock is opening a new outlet at Ballymena's Fairhill shopping centre - just its second Northern Ireland store (the other is in Newcastle).

The new store will sell a range of outdoor clothing aimed at people with a love of style and adventure.

“We are very excited about this next stage of growth for Saltrock in Northern Ireland,” said Lou Rees, head of retail at Saltrock.

“Fairhill shopping centre is a great destination, and we hope to welcome existing customers, along with a whole new Saltrock audience, through our doors.”

Ryan Walker, director at Magmel (Ballymena) Ltd, which owns Fairhill, added: “We believe Saltrock’s passion for surfing and the great outdoors will be well received by the people of Northern Ireland, where we have some of the most beautiful coastlines and countryside on our doorsteps.

“We wish Saltrock all the best and encourage shoppers to come and see the new store when it opens on Saturday.”

Saltrock was created in Cornwall in 1988 by South African-born brothers Ross and Angus Thomson as a means of generating money to fund their passion of surfing.
