MAGHERAFELT construction figure Ian Henry is among the business leaders from across Northern Ireland named on the King’s Birthday Honours list.

The Henry Brothers group director has become an MBE for services to the economy and to charity in Northern Ireland.

Just days after Henry Brothers was recognised at The Irish News Workplace Employment Awards for its contribution to sustainability, Mr Henry described the MBE as “a true privilege”.

“I am humbled to be included amongst such esteemed company,” he said.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside a vast number of talented individuals within the construction industry and also from the wider business community and am extremely proud of the positive changes that we have all achieved in this time.”

The chief executive of recruitment agency Staffline, Tina McKenzie, is also a new MBE.

A well-known figure within the north’s business circles through her work with the Federation of Small Businesses, Ms McKenzie was recognised for her services to the economy.

Elsewhere, Euro Auctions founder Derek Keys, is an OBE for his services to the economy, while Construction Industry Training Board Northern Ireland chief executive, Barry Neilson, also receives an OBE for services to economic development.

Other business figures named in the birthday honours list include to David McCall, who is an MBE for his services to business, while William Montgomery, board member at AFBI (Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute) and Belfast Metropolitan College, receives an OBE eor services to the economy.
