DUNLUCE Healthcare has unveiled plans for a new £10 million nursing home in Newtownards which will create 110 permanent roles including 16 nursing positions.
Called ‘The Peninsula’, the state-of-the-art facility will provide a range of nursing, residential, respite, and convalescent care needs to 80 residents when it opens at the end of this year.
Ryan Smith, chief executive of Bangor-based Dunluce Healthcare, said: “Providing the highest standard of care to our residents is of paramount importance to us, and The Peninsula has been designed with both care and comfort in mind.
“Featuring 80 modern, stylish rooms as well as spacious communal areas and beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces, it will offer residents a truly luxurious living experience, designed to hotel standards.”
Dunluce Healthcare currently operates residential and nursing care facilities at Oakmont Lodge (Bangor), Hillcrest Care Home (Omagh) and Hillside Residential (Omagh).
Ryan added: “The Peninsula not only represents the next step in our plans for continued growth and development, but also creates vital employment opportunities.
“We plan to recruit over 100 permanent staff members and we've also appointed Dr Kevin Moore to the position of director of nursing, where he brings over 40 years of experience and a genuine commitment to delivering top quality care.”
