BELFAST-based IT asset disposal company Vyta has been awarded the UK's highest data security rating, which will enable it to target an additional £1.3 million in revenues by the end of this year, adding to its current £16 million sales.

Vyta, which had its roots in a small computer shop in south Belfast, has secured the rating from the Asset Disposal and Information Security Alliance (ADISA).

The certification (a DIAL 3 with a distinction, which the highest level of certification attainable) covers all of Vyta’s sites in Dublin, Belfast and Essex, where it recently acquired IT asset disposal company FGD.

And it means the company can perform ADISA-approved collections and services for clients with extremely high security requirements and critically sensitive data.

That will enable it to expand its customer base in highly lucrative industries including data centres, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, and government including defence and healthcare.

“This certification underlines our vigilance in data security and destruction and is a testament to the commitment and high standards of the entire team at Vyta,” the company's chief operating officer Giles Ward said.

“We place the utmost importance on safeguarding our clients' data, so receiving this award and knowing that our security standards are among the highest in the world gives us a great deal of satisfaction.”

He added: “In today's data economy, companies are more conscious than ever of their need to protect client data. By investing in the continual improvement of our processes across all of our sites, we have established ourselves as the highest certified company in the industry.

“Achieving a DIAL 3 with distinction gives us a clear competitive advantage, enabling us to work with organisations who handle highly classified data and helping them to contribute to the circular economy.”

Vyta specialises in IT recycling, equipment collection and disposal, ensuring total data security and protection along the way.

ADISA is the world’s leading certification body for IT asset disposal companies and data sanitisation services, giving assurance to businesses that they are adhering to the highest data security standards.
