THOMPSON Aero Seating has announced Virgin Atlantic as the latest customer of its luxury business-class seating system.

The VantageXL suite, which is designed and manufactured at Thompson Aero's Portadown facility, featured prominently in the airline’s London launch of its new A330-900 aircraft last week.

The seating system, which features fully enclosed suite doors and a privacy divider, also provides a fully flat horizontal bed.

Describing the VantageXL as “a fantastic seat”, Virgin’s design manager Henry Buckley said: “We have worked to customise the styling, functionality and product features within our latest UpperClass suite.

“In true Virgin Atlantic style, and working with Thompson Aero Seating, we have then overlaid it with bespoke trim and finish, to give our customers an enriched in-seat experience, that offers style and comfort.”

Andy Morris, VP commercial at Thompson Aero said: “Virgin Atlantic’s choice of features to customise the seats has created a truly sumptuous environment and we hope that the comfort offered will prove to be a major selling point for the airline.”
